I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to state for the information of the Secretary of State, that, under the circumstances represented in the despatches from the Governor of Hong-Kong which were transmitted with your letter of 8th inst., my Lords will not object to the expenditure of about £5000 involved in the additions which the Governor has ordered to be made to the Central School. They also approve of the appointment.
